Pasayahan sa Lucena

The Pasayahan sa Lucena is a 3-day festival (May 28-30) that was first held in 1987  in celebration and honor of St. Ferdinand of Castile,  the Patron Saint of Lucena.  As the Pasayahan became a success, the 3-day festivity was extended to a week-long celebration.

Last 2006, Chami Festival was added to the Pasayahan Festival so as to exhibit the most famous noodle dish of the City of Lucena. If Lucban, Quezon has the pancit lucban, well, Lucenahins have Chami! This noodle dish is mainly composed of Miki Noodles (Shanghai-style noodles), garnished with meat and veggies. It can be cooked in sweet and spicy, plain/classic or the spicy style.

The highlights of the Pasayahan festival this year are: the Grand Parade, Street Dance Coompetition, Pintahan sa Banga, G. at Bb. Pasayahan, Mall Day, Flores de Mayo, the night market (kabit-kalas) and of course the Chami Cooking and Eating contests!

And as a follow-up for our Chami Love couple shirt, we bring you this Pasayahan 2012 souvenir shirt, both from talk@tee Philippines Series

Pahiyas Festival

Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon is indeed one of the most sought of festivals here in our country. The festival was done annually for the honor of St. Isidore the Laborer (San Isidro Labrador) who was to be believed the patron saint of the farmers.

The highlights of the celebration focuses on the parade of the patron saint on the selected streets of Lucban, Quezon. According to their belief, the households would receive abundant blessings throughout the year if it were passed through by San Isidro during the procession. These houses along the streets where the procession were scheduled to pass through, decked their houses with their harvests and other produce. Fruits, vegetables, grains, longganisa sausages, and lechon were used as a décor hung in the most artistic and fashionable way. And don't forget, the most popular decoration during the Pahiyas festival is the Kiping. It is primarily made from ground rice flour which is then cooked and shaped into leaves then hung in a chandelier called "Arangya". These kipings were used not only as decorations, but were also served as snacks, and it is best served half grilled with sprinkles of sugar on top.

Night markets and street shops or tiangge were also accessible for those who want to take home some souvenir items from the festival itself, or for those who just want to buy some snacks that can be munched on during the long travel home.

And speaking of souvenirs, talk@tee had just made a great souvenir item, especially created for this one-of-a-kind occasion!

Couple Shirts, Sweet yet with a Taste of Humor

By A.R. Villamor

It is true that couple shirts are among the list of the most popular gifts that we could give to our loved ones and the search for the couple shirt design are one of the most challenging things we have to face. Some malls do have couple shirts but the ones that bear the unique designs are the one you are in search for (simply because you yearn for the design that you know no one else can buy in the department stores).

Here are some samples of humorous yet sweet couple shirts that I have seen on the web, particularly on talk@tee’s online shop:

This shirt can be described by the name itself, love online. This couple shirt usually fit the couples who have long distance relationship, and just maintain their communication through the web. It can also be suitable for couples who have first known each other through the social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. It is a sweet gift that you can give to your partner who is far from you and you can even put your own pictures on the shirt to make it a lot sweeter.

This is the most common couple shirt that I encountered. Though it may be common, it still remained sweet. “Love” not completed without each other, can anything be any sweeter than that?

“I will give you everything, even the stars in the sky” aww... a very common, cheesy but sweet line. Why not just give these couple shirts? It would seem as if you also have given your partner a “real” star.

Well, these couple shirts have a very humorous nature. Tok giving Kat (both are characters of talk@tee) a bouquet of roses from Kat’s garden, without Kat’s knowledge! Well that’s funny (and sweet!).
If you want to see more couple shirt designs to choose from, I suggest that you visit talk@tee’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/talkateeshirts .

Cool T-shirt Designs for You!

Would you agree when I say the most comfortable clothe to wear is the t-shirt?And how cool it is when your t-shirt has smart and utterly artistic design?

While browsing some magazines, blogs, and websites for the last few weeks, I’ve seen variations of t-shirt designs which have been part of the “ins” in the trend. Among them are ranging from simple-and-cute to grungy-and-vintage type. Typography, doodle, classic cartoon characters, statements, icons and celebrities, sketch and picture collage styles are also dominating the t-shirt design industry.

Of course there are a lot of influences from which our t-shirt designs emerged – from cinema, TV series and reality shows, classic personalities to commercial products. Like these different sample t-shirt designs from www.bnpdesignstudio.com ; perfect for diverse personalities! I found these really catchy and you can never go out of style with them.
