Pasayahan sa Lucena

The Pasayahan sa Lucena is a 3-day festival (May 28-30) that was first held in 1987  in celebration and honor of St. Ferdinand of Castile,  the Patron Saint of Lucena.  As the Pasayahan became a success, the 3-day festivity was extended to a week-long celebration.

Last 2006, Chami Festival was added to the Pasayahan Festival so as to exhibit the most famous noodle dish of the City of Lucena. If Lucban, Quezon has the pancit lucban, well, Lucenahins have Chami! This noodle dish is mainly composed of Miki Noodles (Shanghai-style noodles), garnished with meat and veggies. It can be cooked in sweet and spicy, plain/classic or the spicy style.

The highlights of the Pasayahan festival this year are: the Grand Parade, Street Dance Coompetition, Pintahan sa Banga, G. at Bb. Pasayahan, Mall Day, Flores de Mayo, the night market (kabit-kalas) and of course the Chami Cooking and Eating contests!
